Alone with the Sea

It's always a tragedy when a phenomenal band is underappreciated. Sure, Hurt has seen some success in their career, but not nearly half of what they deserve. Do yourself a favor and pick up their first two albums, Vol. I and Vol. II. Their single "Rapture" received decent radio play about a decade ago, but my personal favorite from these albums is this song. When I was overseas at war I listened to this song a lot. It beautifully captures a loss of faith in humanity and feeling like an outsider viewing life happening as opposed to being an active participant. It's strange how you can take something that was written about a completely different situation and adopt it to perfectly suit your own story. That's exactly what was done in this fan-made juxtaposition of the song with scenes from the movie, The Shift.
